New life within the historic city.

A study of Tashkent’s traditional urban fabric and its potential for renewal. The proposal connects courtyard buildings, shaded pedestrian routes and shared gardens with a renewed public frontage.

The analysis examines traditional housing, the mahalla neighbourhood structure and connections between existing landmarks. The design views explore timber seating beside water, ceramic roof forms and the relationship between the street edge and quieter interior courts.
